белый бал

I'm assuming this is some sort of coming out event or dance (back when the term coming out had nothing to do with sexual orientation)?
From a list of people being deported from Bessarabia to Siberia in the early 1940s.

debutantes' ball
The debutantes are the young ladies dressed in white and dancing at the opening ceremonies of most balls in Vienna and also so-called Debutantes balls. The debutante tradition started in the early 18th Century in England. As girls reached a marriageable age, they were presented to society so they could find a husband of suitable situation and similar social standing. http://www.balltrotter.com/2011/the-debutantes/

"White ball"
As an option, you might consider keeping close to the original, though in essence it is a debutantes' ball.
A bit of history:

It is not uncommon to come across similar names in the western culture, though in this case the emphasis is on the white color attire:

: But nobody would know what it means.

Isn't the phrase "white ball" followed by the specifying description -"the first ball in their life..."? / In addition, "debutantes' ball" has its equivalent in Russian - "бал дебютанток".
