Ho trovato questa espressione in una descrizione di un pesticida, per la precisione un larvicida. Personalmente non so se questa frase è da intendersi come "bagnare le piante fino a che proprio non gocciolano" o se ci si deve fermare prima e se c'è un'espressione ben precisa. L'unico contesto a disposizione è questo quindi per cortesia non sprecate il mio e vostro tempo chiedendone di più:
"Utilizzare g 250-750 per ettaro, ossia g 50-150/hl d'acqua usando irroratori a grande volume, avendo cura di bagnare fino al limite dello sgocciolamento;"

I think it refers to the drip line around the base of trees/shrubs, an area the size of the canopy, within which rainwater naturally falls off the leaves. This is where the rootlets are most concentrated. Hope this was helpful.
