NPT hex cap screw
the picture [the only one found in a Google picture search] shows a tapeded shaft.

This definition of screw is further reinforced by the consideration of the developments of fasteners such as Tek Screws, with either round or hex heads, for roof cladding, self-drilling and self-tapping screws for various metal fastening applications, roof batten screws to reinforce the connection between the roof batten and the rafter, decking screws etc.

What is Flowdrill.
A Flowdrill is a solid carbide drilling tool, which is capable of locally displacing material in order to form increased material thickness. This increased thickness allows for a stronger fastening connection by tapping, brazing or welding.

Diese Technik kenne ich als selbstschneidende Schrauben, auch als Blechschrauben seit ca. 40 Jahren. Was ist daran neu oder anders, um es anders zu bezeichnen?
Selbstschneidende und selbstbohrende Schrauben sind Schrauben, die durch ein Spezialgewinde sich entweder selbst in das Material eindrehen oder sogar ein metrisches Gewinde hinterlassen, wenn die Schrauben wieder herausgedreht werden. Dadurch spart man die Schritte die sonst nötig sind, um eine Schraube zu befestigen (Vorbohren) oder ein Gewinde herzustellen (Vor-, Mittel- und Nachschneider).
