What are you doing this weekend? What are your plans for the weekend?

Hello / Buenos Dias,
I was wondering what the most natural way to say these two sentences* would be in Spanish? Although some English-Spanish dictionaries list "la fin de la semana" as "the weekend" in Spanish, I'm not sure that Spanish speakers use it in the same way that English speakers use "weekend" if they even use it at all! Any help with a translation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for translating my sentences. I wasn't sure that Spanish really had an authentic word for "weekend" but you and other people who responded confirmed that it does. At least, contemporary Spanish does. Yesterday I said to a Salvadoran I know "Que pase buen fin de semana." He knew what it meant and replied "Igual' (Igualmente)."

Aquí te sugiero una forma *extremadamente coloquial* y *abreviada* que se usa en
*México* para expresar ambas frases en una sola. Como ves el "qué onda' sustituye a la parte de "qué vas a hacer" y "cuáles son tus planes" y la expresión "fin de semana" se ha reducido a un simple "fin" . De hecho hasta en los comerciales de la tele/radio usan esta fórmula. Lo del "fin" me recuerda al "finde" de los españoles.

in Spain, young peole tend to use (lately) "finde" for fin de semana. It is very colloquial.
