French term

Filet de porcelet

French to English Other Cooking / Culinary Merci d\\\'avance - Thanks a lot
Encore un et ce sera le dernier de la série.
C'est surtout que 'porcelet' c'est 'Piglet' mais je trouve cela peu raffiné.
Un autre terme peut-être ?

Merci de votre aide.

writeaway Aug 27, 2004:

In the states, \"piglet\" is taken as more of a livestock term while \"suckling pig\" is considered a culinary delicacy. It\'s sort of like the difference between \"calf\" and \"veal\".

filet of piglet, piglet filet

two Google hits for the former, and two for the latter. May not be terribly common, but the descriptions thereof (see sites below) do not sound unrefined at all to me. Good luck, and bon appétit...
