In fact, your own text(!) disproves your initial interpretation. You really should have added the header and first sentence found on the same page as the tidbit you're asking about here.

It's "DATENBASIERTES ONLINE-MARKETING" and "Den Messeerfolg durch automatisierte, personalisierte Online-Kommunikation steigern."

Unfortunately, that link obfuscates the issue further. In fact, you've now lumped together Bespielung aus, Bespielung von and Bespielung mit.

As people would say on Twitter, that's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.

Correct prep usage may be more important in English, but this doesn't mean you can just ignore prepositions in German. Regarding the example above, Bespielung von, the closest equivalent is https://www.proz.com/kudoz/german-to-english/architecture/21...

Bespielung mit is a bit trickier, IMO, but irrelevant in this context. Bespielung aus, is, as AB was quite right to infer (though I disagree with the rest of his answer), pulling data from a variety of pre- or mid-event sources to improve the impact of your ads (on social media).

While "audience" is not wrong in a marketing context, it somehow feels wrong in the second German sentence quoted by Martina. Yes, maybe you want to reach a "younger audience" and such pre-event, but after it's all over, it seems more apt to talk about attendees. Else, it sounds too much like a sociology paper, I dunno.

... but I assume if you book this package, trade fair visitors will probably receive some kind of advertising mailshot mentioning your company after the fair. "Play" might work - but I don't know if it would be readily understood. It reminds me a bit of "Ausspielung" (serving (of ads)), but that's the other way round.

I think the idea of bespielen is "exploit", but we need a word that doesn't have negative connotations.
