Yes! Sorry for the lack of context. The previous sentence:

A principios del siglo XX, las razas autóctonas, que se habían seleccionado sobre todo para dedicarlas al trabajo, tenían una conformación en la que dominaba el desarrollo del tercio anterior de cuello amplio, es decir con predominio de las regiones productoras de carnes de segunda calidad en detrimento del desarrollo del tercio posterior, de mayor calidad.

I'm not sure how "conformacion" works here.
