Hello I think that there are both pros and cons for keeping the original but in English (i.e. organisation department)
On the one hand, we may have a set up that simply does not exist in English companies, so keeping the original, especially as it is understandable, makes complete sense
On the other hand, if the set up indeed exists in English companies, but goes under another name, then we should translate it (i.e perhaps "administrative department")
The trick is knowing which of the above applies to our present case but Phi's answer did not merit a disagree which is saying it is basically "wrong".
When we have reservations in such cases, a "neutral" is more adapted but this group is plagues by a group of people who adore handing out disagrees and who yet produce the most ill-sounding phrases in English, often with 0 or very low ghits |
