English term or phrase: community correction center
Hi colleagues,

One more question about criminal justice. I know Brazil doesn't have "community correction center(s)" (I was actually shocked to find this out!) But how would you translate this term for a Brazilian audience?
I consulted a Brazilian criminal lawyer and she said they are called "Vara de Execução Penal" or "Juízo de Execução Penal", but do you guys have a better suggestion? Context is a survey on criminal justice and treatment of offenders.

Sentence: This question has to do with your experiences in community corrections.

I need to localise "Community Corrections" for the Brazilian market.

Explanation:
A community correction center is like a halfway house, not a vara de execução penal. I think the Centros de Ressocialização are quite similar here in Brazil.

Asker: Obrigada, Sergio, mas como disse ao Hari, não é a mesma coisa, os "community corrections" não são locais de segurança mínima onde os presos vivem ou cumprem regime semi-aberto, como a "casa do albergado", eles são centros onde a pessoa tem reuniões com o "parole/probation officer" e fala sobre como está indo sua vida fora da prisão e se está respeitando as restrições da sua liberdade condiciona, etc., então, novamente, não é o que estou procurando. Contatei uma segunda advogada brasileira e ela me disse que não existe mesmo, o mais próximo é a Vara de Execução Penal".
