The use of materials in nanoscale provides one the ability to modify fundamental physical properties such as solubility, diffusivity, ***blood circulation half-life***, drug release characteristics, and/or immunogenicity. A number of nanoparticle-based therapeutic and diagnostic agents have been developed for the treatment of cancer, diabetes, pain, asthma, allergy, and infections.
