French term

accueil

French to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters in a forestry contract
From an agreement on the provision of forestry services.

Objectifs de gestion forestière

La Société Forestière est à même de réaliser une gestion différenciée répondant à des objectifs non financiers (*accueil*, paysage…), qui peut concerner tout ou partie du patrimoine d’un propriétaire.

Earlier on accueil is mentioned

La gestion forestière accorde une attention réelle à la préservation des sites à valeur culturelle, au paysage et aux autres services rendus à la collectivité (accueil des usagers autorisés ....

However, I think that in my queried section it's probably just the general approach to people coming to the forest, so my idea is "how visitors are received"
I have put something general as I feel this describes an approach / aspect and not something concrete like visitor facilities.

I don't think anything too touristy sounding like "hospitality" would be appropriate, as the focus of activities seems to be logging and having a few hunters make use of the forest not mass tourism.

agree Nikki Scott-Despaigne : This is one of those words that can be very difficult to translate! To get round the "for/of", you can try visitor access/admission.

reception/receiving

If receiving authorised visitors includes greeting them, showing them around, telling them the rules etc. then I'd use the term "reception" rather than "admission". I'd use the latter term if it was just a question of e.g. opening a gate to let them in.

access for

'Access' and 'Access for authorized users' would seem to fit better than admissions. The latter suggests some activity on the part of forestry management (opening gates, collecting tickets etc.) whereas from experience I've found that management would usually be passive in allowing visitors in i.e. providing a small parking area, leaving access points open etc.

I would suspect that the choice of 'accueil' instead of 'accès' on the part of the author was a stylistic one intending to make the undertaking sound as substantial as possible by taking advantage of the slightly loose meaning of the word accueil - a looseness that isn't attainable with any of the corresponding English words.

Just my 2 cents in case it might help
