Вы хотите перевести "option date" как "день по своему усмотрению" Но она у нас в Мультитране "дата заключения опционной сделки" У Вас не optional, а option, как ни крути... всё, мои доводы исчерпаны)

итак,1) Контекст: в Вашем отрывке option встречается: exercising his or her option (использовать опцион) и option redemption date (дата погашения опциона). 2) При чем здесь опцион: по тексту у нас есть спец. акции, зарегистрированные на держателей. Держатели этих акций имеют право сообщить компании, что хотят продать эти акции этой компании. При этом, они устанавливают день, в который хотят получить от компании деньги за акции. Это их право в установленном порядке продать компании ее акции, зарегистрированные на них, представляет собой их опцион на продажу акций компании. Компания вынуждена согласиться и выкупить эти акции у акционеров, погашая их опцион на продажу акций. (exercising his or her option to have the Corporation redeem - исполняя опцион на выкуп акций компанией) Вот отсюда redemption date (дата погашения опциона) и т.п., уже предложенные мною ранее.

склоняюсь больше к варианту "выборочного" смысла и всех его синонимов, а не опциона... вообще, multitran приводит некий термин, как "oprionAL redemption date", то бишь, "факультативная дата погашения". Только заменить бы на что-то типа "выборочная дата выкупа"

Канадской компании (Articles of Incorporation) построен на условиях выкупа акций компании у держателей этих акций. Мне кажется, опцион здесь ни при чем... Он употребляется только в сочетании с "option redemption date".
