Je cherche à traduire "several years of a permanently casual arrangement " dans le cadre d'une relation sans attache entre des personnes.

Je pensais à "plusieurs années d'une relation toujours sans attache", mais je ne suis pas certaine de mon choix.

Une idée. Ici casual a le sens non pas de quelque chose de temporaire mais de non défini par une structure (genre, fiancés, bf/gf etc...)- Je choisis ce terme parce qu'on reproche à certains (certaines?! surtout un reproche fait aux hommes) leur "peur de s'engager"
