I have a German-language Swiss banking account statement, with items such as Lastschrift, Jahresgebuhr, Belastung, etc.
ONE item is:
"Wertschriftenverk"
This is obviously an abbreviation, for "Wertschriftenverk.".
I know that Wertschrift is "securities", but can anyone say what the "Verk." stands for?

The question is whether this includes the purchase of securities. If so, "Wertschriftenverkehr" - "securities trading" would be correct, as suggested by philgoddard.
But my assumption is that in this position, only sales of financial assets are entered.
In this account statement in question, are there only positive items/entries (sales) or negative ones (purchases), too, marked with "Wertschriftenverk."?
Or is there possibly another item "Wertschriftenkauf"?
