disagree  Tony M: While I agree that under some circumstances 'alimentation' may well be better for 'voltage used to supply the load', I'm afraid that here, it isn't the 'raccordement à la terre' that will have a supply voltage — at least, we jolly well hope not!

As mentioned in FX's examples, the are two ways of connections the load supply: 'floating' (i.e., electrically isolated from the rest of the equipment) or with one side connected to the equipment ground (masse).
The ST refers to the 'non-floating' case, where one of the wires from the power supply is grounded.

agree  Johannes Gleim: Thank you for adding the link. It looks being possible that we are dealing with potential difference at the grounding connection if charged by a load current as common with electrical welding or if a rack serves as return.
