There is currently no gold-standard invasive or non-invasive method of determining absolute concentrations of ALF non-volatile constituents with which EBC can be readily compared.
For example, bronchoalveolar lavage is subject to its own **dilution concerns**.
I cannot understand about "dilution oncerns."

The process of bronchoalveolar lavage can dilute the thing(s) they are trying to measure and therefore make the reading inaccurate.

As has been pointed out, if the dilution was constant, you could allow for it but, in this case, it is not constant.
