French to English translations [Non-PRO] Marketing - Textiles / Clothing / Fashion
French term or phrase:dans le fashion
This appears in the context of a story line for an ad campaign. All the stories are pretty weird and nonsensical, so more context is not really helpful. I'm wondering if this could mean "dressing room"?
Okay, this now makes sense to me - the Colors (as characters) are inside the Fashion pen. None of the other answers made sense because the story line was definitely talking about a place. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
Well it was not obvious for anyone to figure out what this was all about. One needs to see the advertisements in order to have a clue about the meaning. It took me quite some time :-)
@ Alison. No, the title of the ad is actually "Cheesy." I think the line means "In the Fashion [pen]." It is the place where the action is happening. It has nothing to do with the manner in which it is done. Lorraine is correct.
The asker states: "This appears in the context of a story line for an ad campaign." "Fashion" is the title of the ad. Each BIC 4 Colours ad has a title, e.g. Fight, Shine, Zen, Star Wars, Dance, Pen Spinning, etc. (see here: http://www.youtube.com/user/BIC4Colours2013/videos ). So, the English version should read: In Fashion, x looks at himself in the mirror ... this being understood to mean "In the ad entitled Fashion, X looks at himself in the mirror ..."
So if 'Fashion' is the name of the pen, one could say: In the BIC Fashion, x proudly looks at himself in the mirror? Because advertisements show actions with the different colors happening inside the pen.
it is clear that "Fashion" is part of the name of the product. The standard BIC 4 Colours comes in red, black, green and blue, while the BIC 4 Colours Fashion comes in lime green, turquoise, pink and purple -the colours are trendier, more fashionable.
Well, actually I did end up finding the ads on youtube and believe it or not, it was of no help either since these ads are very bizarre! So in the end I just went with Fashion room. If you want to see what I mean, since this is available to the public via youtube, just look for the Bic 4-color ads done in France.
'Dans le fashion' is no good French to begin with.
it's really hard to say without knowing more. It could be the fitting room too. The French is bizarre if it's the name of a room. Imo only someone with the full context can work it out.
To writeaway - I did post as much helpful context as was available. The sentence I posted made it clear that it was some sort of room with a mirror in it. Hence my guess of"dressing room." The four answers that were posted made no sense in the context.
or post any helpful peer comment without at least one French sentence that shows the context. No acceptable answer because no acceptable context was provided.
Je me demande si cela pourrait signifier «vestiaire»?
