Unfortunately we would not be able to pursue the claim for clinical negligence on your behalf. The most sensible course of action would be to issue court proceedings against all the hospitals who were involved in your care. We are not permitted to issue proceedings against XYZ Hospital because your original instruction of this firm came about through the XYZ free legal advice service: one of the conditions of our contract with XYZ is that we cannot advise patients in relation to any potential clinical negligence claims against XYZ itself. On that basis, if you wanted to pursue a claim for clinical negligence, you would need to instruct alternative solicitors.
