Non sono riuscita a trovare il termine in altri contesti.per la prima parte della definizione non ho dubbi, qualche perplessità per la seconda.le terapie salvavita sono indispensabili e quindi prioritarie per un paziente.forse la seconda parte vuole dire che, essendo molto costose, le logiche del mercato tendono a rallentarne l.introduzione

: In effetti potrebbe essere "terapia salvavita e/o per malattie rare" perché, di solito, le industrie farmaceutiche non investono nella ricerca per malattie non comuni (poco ritorno in termini di introiti, ovviamente)

‘‘(A) is a priority to diagnose, mitigate, prevent, or treat harm from any disease or condition; and
‘‘(B) for which the incentives of the commercial market are unlikely to result in its adequate or timely development.
