This section allows the user to control how the highlighting is applied on the site list page. The site list page will display an orange highlight to draw attention to values that are out of range. The settings here allow the user to adjust the sensitivity of the alerts or to turn them on or off.




Inactive chargers - These are chargers that have not seen activity in 30 days or more. This setting controls how many chargers you can have no activity on before the alert is triggered. Usually zero is the correct number, but sometimes there may be several chargers tagged out (perhaps due to not enough batteries) and it is normal to have a couple of inactive chargers.
Percent Mispick - The number of mispicks as a percentage of the total battery selections.
Zero Available Pick - A battery that is picked when there are no batteries fully charged and ready to go is a zero available pick. It generally means you are running out of batteries. Usually this is left at zero.
Battery to truck ratio - The information entered for the numbers of batteries and trucks is not consistent with the number of chargers. The number of batteries should usually be equal to the number of trucks plus the number of chargers. If that is not the case then the battery to truck ratio will be highlighted.
Battery cycles/week - How frequently the batteries are being used on average. If this number is too high you may be using the batteries too hard and need more batteries. If it's low, you may have more batteries than you need. This statistic depends on the number of batteries to be entered in the pool information section.
Battery reserve - This is the average of the minimim batteries available as a percentage of the number of trucks. It shows how big your extra reserve of batteries is compared with the number of trucks you have. From experience we have seen that in most cases below 25% the pool is in danger of running out of batteries and if it is over 50% there could be too many batteries.
Charger no-start - A battery is connected to the charger and after 24 hours the charger still has not come on. Usually this threshold is left at 0.
Missing charger capacity - When the maximum number of batteries available never reaches the number of available chargers, this number will show that you are not getting the full use of the chargers in the pool. The number of available chargers is the number of chargers minus the empty slot count. If you have 10 chargers, 9 spare batteries, and the maximum number of batteries available is 8, then the pool is functioning as if it had one charger less than it really does.
Days with zero min batteries - Count of how many days the available battery count hit zero. Hitting zero sometimes may not be a problem but if you are hitting zero on a lot of days then it could mean you have too few batteries.
Cool down < 8 hours % - How many times a battery is picked having had less than 8 hours to cool down since the chrger stopped. This is calculated as a percentage of the number of total battery selections. As this number gets bigger, it indicates probable damage being done to batteries by overheating.
Shows the number of batteries selected in the pool each day. It can be used to:


To determine if the activity of the site is the reason for low battery availability. Rescheduling work could make more batteries available.
To quantify busy season activity.

Each point on this graph is the highest number of fully charged batteries available on that day. When the points do not hit the top of the graph there is unused charger capacity in the pool. This could be due to multiple reasons such as:

Non working chargers
Insufficient batteries (empty slots)
Battery tagged out for maintenance
Each point on this graph is the lowest number of fully charged batteries available on that day. If it is getting to zero frequently you may need more batteries. If it never gets close to zero you may have more assets than you need.


NotesAdding notes (by clicking the "add" link) to the pool can help explain special situations or events. This can make it easier for others to understand what the graphs are showing. There are two ways to put a note in:

With a date - If something happened on a particular day, for example "Charger 101 was fixed", then you would enter the date the event happened along with the description. That note will be displayed whenever the date of the note is in the range of dates being displayed. If the note is for January 10th and the user is displaying only February data then the note will not display.
"Display Always" option checked - If you want to make a comment about the pool in general that is not about a specific event on a particular date (for example "This pool has more batteries than needed due to reduced number of trucks"), then check the "display always" box. This note will always display regardless of the date range selected.
You can edit a note by clicking on the text of the note itself.
Open IssueThis is a way to keep track of any open issues that need to be resolved in the pool. Select this option when you create the note. It will always display regardless of the date range being displayed with the words "open issue" next to it. When the issue gets resolved, you can close the issue by clicking on the text of the issue and checking off the "closed" checkbox. The system will then remember the date the issue was closed and display a note indicating that the issue was closed. This note will only display when the date is within the date range being displayed.

Total Zero Available Picks - The number of times an operator was forced to pick a battery when there were no fully charged batteries available. This is an indication that you may not have enough batteries and chargers in this pool.
Number of days with zero batteries available - Total number of days where no fully charged batteries were available.
Battery reserve – An indication of whether a pool of batteries is appropriately sized as compared to the number of fork lift trucks in that pool. When the percentage is high (above 50%) it could be an indication that there are too many batteries in the pool. When the percentage is low (below 25%) it could be an indication that there are too few batteries in the pool. The Battery Reserve is calculated, for each pool of batteries, by comparing the average value from the minimum batteries available graph to the number of fork lift trucks in that pool (Battery Reserve = Average of Daily Minimum Batteries Available / Number of Trucks).
Average cycles per battery per week - Average of the number of times batteries are selected in a week from all chargers in the pool.
Unused charger capacity - This captures how effectively you are using your available charger capacity. When the number is higher than expected improvement in performance can be gained without buying additional chargers. For a battery changer application you would generally expect to see zero. Without a battery changer, this number may be 1 because there is always one "empty slot" (a charger with no battery) to enable the operators to put a battery on the rack before pulling the one that will go in the truck.
Total batteries picked - Total picks from all chargers in the pool.
Average picks per day - The average number of picks per day.
Mispicks - The number of times the wrong battery was selected.
