Hi everyone,

I came across this in a Moroccan commercial lease. It's not a term I have seen before, and I was hoping for some help. Since it is listed along with a WC, I was thinking maybe it is a washroom, with the WC having the toilet and the "pièce sanitaire" having the sink? Any ideas? Thanks!

Might you say this, as opposed to a water closet in building codes?

WC = toilet room

lavatory = sink (for purposes of a commercial lease)

neutral  Marie Jackson: I don't know if this is different across the pond, but 'lavatory' is seen as a nicer way of saying 'toilet' in the UK... Hey there. That's interesting to know - we learn something new every day!

  -> Hello. For building code purposes, "lavatory" is just a room with a sink in the US. Besides, if the text makes a distinction with a WC, you know that room doesn't have a toilet, lavatory or not. You can just say "sinkroom", too.

Logically if this were to mean wash room, it should be associated with the WC.
-plateau y compris WC, pièce sanitaire et kitchenette.
From experience, estate agents are not always the most precise when it comes to punctuation.
Could it be one room with a kitchenette and separate toilets, possibly with a non-specified wash basin?
As in -plateau y compris pièce sanitaire (kitchenette et WC)?
It would be useful to have the rest of the text listing other rooms to have an idea of the allotted space...

disagree  Tony M: Punctuation or not, one would never combine a kitchenette with a WC and/or washroom! Note that 'kitchenette' in FR usually just means a small area with sink + fridge, maybe hotplate, and sometimes an all-in-one unit; prob. not an actual 'room'
