Salve, sto traducendo alcune frasi di inglese avanzato per studenti uiversitari, e mi chiedo se per la struttura sopra riportata abbia dato la giusta traduzione. la struttura su cui ho dubbi è fra virgolette e la frase intera è la seguente :

There's ''hardly any'' fax paper left.

Di seguito propongo 3 traduzioni per la struttura fra virgolette :

1) e' rimasto'' a mala pena qualche'' foglio per il fax.
2) non ci sono ''quasi più fogli'' per il fax.
3) sono rimasti ''pochissimi fogli'' per il fax.

certamente, Rino, data la natura dell'esercizio probabilmente è richiesta una traduzione più letterale, infatti ho solo voluto darti una possibilità forse più naturale in italiano, ovviamente meno fedele, ma che spontaneamente a me verrebbe da usare nel caso specifico.

Certo, variante della mia proposta, anzi anche meglio, "la carta è quasi finita" sì, è questo il senso.

Asker: Grazie Pierluigi, ma in questo caso penso che sta quasi per finire si direbbe ''is about to finish'' o ''is about to be finished'' o ancora is going to finish''
