This is in a website description of their mats for horses to lie on: these are more comfortable than traditional bedding and save money.

Discussion

Horst Huber (X) Aug 10, 2012:
Quite. And intended for horses lying down, not standing. Resilient means the material bounces back; "verformbar" means it yields to pressure and assumes the resultant shape. There are ads for the "memory foam mattress" just as an example.
jccantrell Aug 10, 2012:
Sounds like Tempurpedic for horses!

soft, dry, and deformable; soft, dry, deformable, and resilient

"weich" means soft but sometimes means "soft and resilient".
"verformbar" always means deformable.
"deformable" is different from soft and different from resilient. Therefore it is likely that the author intended to have it included in the list.

In particular, a structure may be locally soft and resilient but on a wider scale not deformable. It depends on how you define the area of focus. For example, it may be soft and resilient to the extent of 2-3 centimeters, but not deformable on the scale of 10 centimeters, which latter is still relevant for a horse.

Another option.

Try training with an exercise ball or malleable flooring or mats.
