This is the tendency of university study to extend beyond the first degree. Many people thought that the normal course was shorf in the light of width and depth of the curriculum to be covered. Therefore the further development of post-graduate courses appears to be reasonable.

послевузовское / последипломное образование


Explanation:
а не “обучение“. По крайней мере по идее, послевузовское - да и вузовское тоже - не ремесло: там не “обучают“ а вместе работают над углублением идей (и, соответственно, их понимания) и знаний.

Именно поэтому университский преподаватель называется “профессор“, “доцент“, “лектор“, “преподаватель“ (что, в принципе, вариант на этимологию “профессора“), а не “учитель“.
