I am not sure what "formazione" means below nor what they mean by "moltiplicando..." etc.
I have translated this as "considering a 17% formation (BUT FORMATION OF WHAT?) and multiplying (THIS?) by the molecular weight ratio (??)."
Is this logical? Many thanks

or the 17% could be the conversion...conversion is the percentage of starting material converted (that has reacted) into the excpected product or byproducts, while a yield is the percentage of SM converted into one product only. Check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conversion_(chemistry)

Sue I think your question should read "considerando 17% di formazione e moltiplicando per il rapporto dei pesi molecolari," since you know what "rapporto dei pesi molecolari" means (though I think "ratio between the molecular weights of ..." might work better than "molecular weight ratio".
