Non-PRO English to French Other Other letter of reference

On a letter of reference for a couple who wishes to adopt:

"It is indeed a pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for [names.] I can best describe my recommendation by breaking down our time together in segments as I have seen them share their lives with one another. Life experiences always allow us to grow, and I have been able to see this growth played-out in the lives of [names]."

I believe the writer is saying that he has seen/witnessed a lot of "growth" (maturity) in the couple over the many years.
