Discussion

rkillings Dec 4, 2010:
context? type of company? Company officers that don't own a single share of the company they work for are rare indeed these days. It's assumed that they *ought* to have some skin in the game, and that's what stock options are for (aligning incentives and all that). Is the implication here that the person is a major shareholder?

Robin This is typical of the "Director"/"Manager" problem! I would usually translate "Director" unless it was a branch or it was clear that the individual was subservient to the board. With any luck the website helps us out. "Manager" conceptually is fine, but finally, the practical position needs to be defined. Usually "Director". I would say!

Shareholding Manager

Since you specify it is a senior officer in the company and not just a shareholder with a fairly large chunk of shares actively participating in the company's affairs, I presume you're looking for a designation. So, the best I can think of is a 'Shareholding Manager' but may be you can find a better way of putting it across...

If you could provide with the sentence it would help more...
