Greetings,
I'm a bit confused about the exact meaning of امامزاده.
Does it mean ‘آرامگاه’ in general? Or is it only used for the آرامگاه of the son (or descendant in general?) of an امام?
All the best, and many thanks,
Simon

آرامگاه is totally different. You can refer to the grave or tomb of any person as his/her آرامگاه.
For example: آرامگاه حافظ Hafez is an Iranian poet but not an Imamzadeh

offspring of an Imam/ shrine
Simon,
It depends on the context of the passage. If it is talking about a person, it refers to descendant ( son of an Imam), but when you here some one says من دارم میرم امامزاده علی for example, he/ she means the shrine in which امامزاده علی is buried. in fact he is going to his shrine.
