Spanish term

nada impide el traslado del alumno a otro instituto

"Pursuant to the provisions in force, NOTHING PREVENTS the student from transferring to another institute"

¿Hay alguna mejor manera de decir esto? Muchas gracias por adelantado.

there is no impediment to the transfer

Given the register, I think

there is no impediment to the transfer of the student to another institution

works well

there is nothing to prevent the pupil's transfer to another school

Instituto = secondary school (UK) / high school (USA) ... ambos pueden llamarse "school"

I prefer this to "impediment" which sounds rather formal, but perhaps that is the register you are looking for.

Peer comment(s):

agree Jan Castillo : This sounds natural, yet formal enough for the document.

No law can stop a student being transferred to another school

según las disposiciones vigentes. Comes first in my opinion. So that:
NADA IMPIDE
el traslado del alumno a otro instituto**, según las disposiciones vigentes."

Can be translated as:
According to the existing rules/laws no one can stop a student transferring himself/herself (or being transferred as can it be both, context will tell), to another school.
