French to English Tech/Engineering Transport / Transportation / Shipping
Could this really be 'spoilsport'? I find it hard to imagine as it is the title of a brochure announcing a transport company's presence at a tradeshow and talks about the introduction of an ecotax and road tolls in general.

That changes everything I never read Emma's post, but she could be right here. If it's about the eco-tax, then maybe it's not positive.

If it's negative about passing the ecotax, maybe you could say "Unstoppables" (they must be stopped). In the words, there's no one stopping the people who support from getting it passed straight shot. Someone needs to stop them in their tracks.

I'm just guessing...

First, yes Matthew, as it was a rush job I had to decide and deliver, but I intend(ed) to wait 24 hours before awarding points. Second, Michel, you are right, as it was rush and shared with another translator, I only had part of the text, but as Emma discerned, this appears to be a badge for the new eco-tax. Have had first feedback from client who seems satisfied. Thanks again to all.

??? Hello, I know I'm a bit behind schedule. But even with the context and information which has been provided, I do not really see what it's all about:
- the system called "LIBER-T" (see http://www.info-autoroute.com/telepeage.htm) allows any badged vehicle (lorry or not) to cross through any toll station without having to stop;
- I do not understand what "empêcheur d'empêcher" has to do with that !

Okay what I went with was 'For a clear run through' because I was inspired by polyglot's suggestion and I had to deliver. Other answers are probably at least as good, but how do I award points? And thanks everyone.

Be careful! Truck drivers in France don't stop at tolls anyway - they already have a special device for that. The new device is for automatic payment of the EU ecotax. I doubt it's something transporters are happy about and your title may not be positive at all. See below for how "empêcheur" can be read positively or negatively. IMHO you really need to get a grasp of the whole text before you translate the title.

A lot more context I think we're going to need a lot more information about the company and its stance on the HGV tax (I presume) to be able to help you here.

It could mean an improvement in toll collection by implementing a suitable device by the concerned company. It could mean " stopping the defaulter ", thus ensuring the toll collection.

Un empecheur - is someone who dissuades or prevents someone from a fault. - un empecher could mean a defaulter, but not exactly in this context..

But think the otherway : of a device that facilitates automatic collection, wherein, you don't need to stop or do anything at the toll gate. Here the translation could meen " care free drive" - " No more stopping", "Stop the stopper"

It's part of a decorative advertisement in marketing, like: Why do you care ,when I am there!"

Hello,

It literally means that someone is keeping someone from being held up (stop you from being stopped).. In other words, this transport company keeps you going straight through.

This translation attempts to keep more of a play on words like the French does.
