Italiano term

si candida come

Da Italiano a Inglese Affari/Finanza Finanza (generale) Press release
XX **si candida come** il partner finanziario di riferimento delle imprese italiane

I know what it means, but I can't think of an elegant way to phrase it in English.

Thanks,
Dominic

Discussion

lcstranslations Jan 28, 2010:
I think you could also use "the company is offering its (financial?)services" or something along those lines
Dominic Currie (asker) Jan 28, 2010:
Context Sorry I wasn't clear in the question. The context is a Press Release for a financial services company. So the company is "putting itself forward as" or "offering itself as", something along those lines.
lcstranslations Jan 28, 2010:
is this in a CV, letter of presentation or within minutes?

"XX operates on the market as a financial partner for businesses."
If it is just starting up, then "xx commences operations as
I have never found an acceptable way of translating this precisely in a formal advertising blurb register (in another register: "hey all you businesses out there, we want to be your financial partner".
So its better to skip it than put something clumsy in a corporate press release, which is 50% info and 50% image.

Forgot. You might like to replace "partner" with consultant or something more specific.
