Друг душевный, мы здесь расстаемся,
Это место и час этот святы... (Прощание с женой)
Какой бы эпитет подобрать яркий?
Спасибо

Dear love
Dear love, the fates dictate our parting,
Here, right now - a holy place and day.

Comment: "My first variant was soulmate as well, but a person on one of the matching sites could be your soulmate I guess... I like beloved, but it is used again later in the text. So I think dear love sounds good in the context. Thank you very much"

: This is the obvious translation, but would it work in context of the poem? I think not... perhaps if you were to expand it in English eg. Here, my sweet soulmate, we must part ways....

my beloved
Soulmate isn't really a term of endearment. That's not the context it's generally used it. 'Beloved' is strong and has a poetic tinge.

Мне кажется, это старомодное и красивое обращение нужно перевести как есть.

Thank you!
Note from asker:
Its strange because on top it says Ru>Eng. I do not see where it says Ge>Eng, so where should I change it? |
