благомысленность

Russian to English Other Religion
This is going to be a long day.

The same Nikita David Paphagonia discussing the Apostle Matthew.

Thanks in advance.

benevolence

No hard and fast answer to this one, for sure.
Peer comment(s):

agree Victor Zagria : this one fits the context best, IMHO, of course

good thoughts

Сравните:

Три храма с выгравированными на стенах названиями символизируют на самом деле этическую триаду зороастрийской религии: благомыслие, благословие, благодеяние
ru.wikipedia.org/.../Волшебная_флейта

Zoroastrian morality is then to be summed up in the simple phrase, "good thoughts, good words, good deeds"

wholesome thinking

Not infrequently used in a religious context:

Peer comment(s):

neutral Victor Zagria : contextually irrelevant? not always winning, right?

Виктор, не понимаю замечания, повторите по-русски, пожалуйста. Do you mean "wholesome" is out of place in religious contexts?? But, it doesn't mean "winning." Cf. famous Shakespeare "Christmas" passage from Hamlet, "so...wholesome is that time."

beneficence, grace

Many interesting possibilities.
Also perhaps magnanimity, cerebral munificence.

Great passage, by the way, thank you for posting the question : )
Peer comment(s):

neutral Victor Zagria : thus you emphasize deeds (благодеяние) while the context suggests aural expression of mental state?

It's a bit of a departure, but since there's no true equivalent I find it's preferable stylistically. Also consider the other options I suggest.

positive (good) way of thinking

that's descriptive, 'happy thought' I came across too, but I wouldn't use it
Peer comment(s):

neutral Victor Zagria : "штиль" более приличествует постулированиям Р. Кийосаки, нежели описанию жития святых.. Если позволите, конечно.

Noble-mindedness

I gues it is the most exact translation and fitting for the description of the Apostle

pure-mindedness

Although this word does not appear in the dictionary, I ran across it in adjectival form in a missionary biography, of all things: "Amy Carmichael of Dohnavur," Frank Houghton

see below

Example sentence:

"I have never met a purer-minded man. I have never met a man with a higher ideal of love and service."
