Today's (People) Explanation: Hi Simon, As you may know, امروز means today and امروزی is an adjective referring to people who may be modern and living today and the under current conditions. So, امروزی ها is the plural meaning "people who belong to today's world," literally. Hope this helps. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 mins (2009-09-26 17:14:18 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- To render a more idiomatic, context-based translation, I think we'd better say "Today's World," though this doesn't exactly represent the original meaning of "Today's People." |

Our Contemporaries, Today's People Explanation: امروز: (n) today امروزی: (adj) of or related to today; also, adj used as a noun meaning "person or thing existing in the current times" Using an adj as a n. here is quite analogous with the English structure: the + adj = plural noun e.g: the rich, the destitute |
