Very useful Discussion 14:50 Jun 28, 2009
This is a very useful discussion for us all, since there is so much graphic work to translate in the IT assignments that are available. In this Query, I perceive that what we call a 'pie-chart' is a 'tabla-queso' or some such in Spanish, referring to a round brick of cheese. Personally, I prefer 'wedge' to 'slice' in this context of a portion of that circle, 'slice' is the word used when the boss says, "We have to increase our slice of the market; get to work." Besides that, we can't translate it to 'cuna' (pardon the lack of diacritics), so perhaps 'seccion' is the accepted jargon in Spanish. Pie charts have been in use for a long time in all countries, so there is a usual way to refer to a portion of them. It may vary from country to country. Regards, All! |
