I specialize in Spanish to English translations for the Arts and Humanities, with a focus on academic research, criticism, reviews, and literature.
I also do proofreading and editing of all types of English texts and documents, previously translated or written by native and non-native speakers; and desktop publishing and DTP formatting of documents in Romance and Germanic languages.
Recent projects have included: translation of source material for a research project sponsored by Oxford's Centre for Anthropology & Mind; articles on Latin American culture and politics for an Italian press agency; and critical essays on exhibitions for galleries and non-profit spaces in Madrid.
I have studied Art at the School of Visual Arts in New York and Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania; English Literature and Linguistics at the Pennsylvania State University; and English Literature and the Philosophy of Language at the University of California, Berkeley. I studied Spanish at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
I have worked for both large arts institutions as well as individual artists and writers. I lived and worked in Spain for four years and frequently travel to Madrid.
