وروح الموضوع هو ما إذا كان عقب هذه البندقية مزخرفاً أم خالي من أية نقوش
أي أن الاسلاك الفضية مغروزة في الخشب لإعطاء مزية أكثر جمالاً لعقب البندقية

This is a suggestion of medium level certainty. The small of anything is its thinnest or narrowest part, such as the small of the back. I assume that in the anatomy of a gun, there is a narrow part known also as the small, and in this case, it is decorated with this band.
