French term
dont le primitivisme aujourd’hui séduit et attire
French to English
Art/Literary
Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
From a short text on figurines similar to this:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Bell_idol_Louvre_CA_...
The first part simply describes what the figurines look like (see link), and then goes on to say:
Toutes deux appartiennent à une même étrange famille dont le primitivisme aujourd’hui séduit et attire.
that fascinates and appeals to today's primivitism movement?
I think I really need to stop and look at this with a fresh eye in the morning, but any suggestions in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

: That's how I understand it too. I can't think that aujourd'hui would apply to primitivism, that would have been "d'ajourd'hui"

Comment: "Many thanks. It became so obvious as soon as I read your answer, I'm almost embarrassed. These things happen :-)"

I think that the appeal and attraction is felt today - I don't think aujourd'hui refers to the primitivism.
