Über weiße Häuser hinweg geht er weit über die Bucht ins endlose Blau – unmöglich zu unterscheiden, wo der Ozean aufhört und der Horizont anfängt. Da tut es dem Auge gut, dass die Gärten zum Großteil aus gepflegtem Rasen bestehen, das Grün wirkt erholsam nach dem blendenen ***Bau-Weiß-Kontrast. ***
I presume (but am not 100% sure) that this is a type for 'BLau-Weiß-Kontrast'. But, given that they were talking about houses (and they could also be referring to the blue and white mosaics used in the gardens, even if they don't mention it here), maybe it's some kind of pun?! In any case, it if IS Blau-Weiß-Konstrast, I am not sure of the best way to translate it - I am not very happy with 'dazzling blue and white contrast' .
Any ideas gratefully received.

It is blue for the sea and white for the houses. So it is the blue/white contrast as you said. And it is a typo.

Gefragt war nach Blau-Weiß-Kontrast.
Die Antwort, die ich gegeben habe, wurde gewählt.
Nach einer Übersetzung für blendend war nicht gefragt.
