English Marketing Marketing Letter
The text is a marketing letter for a document management & imaging companiy. I'd like to find a different formulation for that part of the sentence...
Here's the context:
In November 2007, XX School District awarded our company the bid to replace their existing (20) copiers in their school sites. The bid contained piggyback language so that other Public Agencies and School Districts may purchase from it.

Discussion

Sophie Raimondo (asker) Feb 4, 2008:
This is a marketing letter for schools, so I need to make it simple and easy to understand. the "piggyback language" bothered me a bit... But I don't want it to sound legal either.... Just trying to find the right tone.
Sophie Raimondo (asker) Feb 4, 2008:
I like it, but in that case, I have "bid" twice in the same sentence. I was wondering if I could say "piggyback terms", but with a better word than "term"N

allowed for other organizations to be included in the bid

...if I understand correctly.

Piggyback Options
One or more organizations represent their requirements and include an option for other organizations to "ride" or "bridge" the contract as awarded.
Piggyback Contracts - Contracts issued by individual governmental entities that allow other
jurisdictions to use the contract (i.e., to "piggyback" on the contract terms and prices) they established. The contracting jurisdiction must include piggyback language in the contract and the vendor must agree. Piggyback contracts represent the most immediate cooperative purchasing resource, especially for smaller communities.

Maybe "The bid was written in such a way as to include other organizations therein"..
I'm no expert so I'm not 100% sure that's a legally acceptable way of expressing the idea.

English term (edited): piggyback language

clauses allowing terms and prices reference

Using the same ref as Nesrin, this can be the longer version of the term IMO. Using the piggyback language, entity A can disclose terms and prices of a bid to entity B. Entity B may then issue a purchase order quoting the terms and prices originally defined for A. As reference says, it is practiced by governmental entities to fend off irregularities among them.

I hope this sounds not too "legal."
