Spanish term or phrase: (gozado de un) amplio desarrollo legislativo y jurídico internacional (wording)
Morning all!

I suppose I just didn't get enough sleep last night.

Having trouble putting this together, especially the "desarrollo legislativo y jurídico internacional" bit.

For the time being I have "enjoyed broad international legislative and juridical/judicial development", but it's rather word-for-word and I find it sounds a bit clumsy; the "international" looks out of place, I'm not whether to use "juridical" "judicial" or some other term, ditto for "legislative".

Feel free to drop the "enjoyment" part if you feel it makes for better reading.

Context:

"Mientras los derechos civiles y políticos han gozado de un amplio desarrollo legislativo y jurídico internacional, el ámbito de los derechos económicos, sociales y culturales (DESC) no ha seguido esta trayectoria."

TIA,

Álvaro

P.S. Henry, if you feel you need more context, feel free to ask!! ;O) ;O) ;O)

English translation:legislative and legal development internationally
Explanation:
It's rather a long sentence .... I think splitting it might help.

"Civil and political rights have undergone extensive legislative and legal development internationally; however, ..... "

Or "... have benefited from extensive ...."

I really like Jackie's "the same cannot be said of ... , which ... ".
Although It does make things even wordier, you could put a stop after internationally and then the 2nd sentence would start "The same ...".

Sorry. Omitted the "international". Perhaps insert before "legislative".

agree  Jackie Bowman: Yes, 100%. Your last suggestion is the solution. Split it and start anew with "The same cannot .." (still hear my O-level English teacher insisting that you can't start a sentence or clause with "however". Warped a generation, but I can't get past it).
