Craig Bingham was appointed Joint Managing Director of Portfolio Partners in February 2001 and sole Managing Director in August 2001, after 16 years experience in financial services.

Kelly, in Italy the Amministratore Delegato (Managing Director) and the Amministratore Unico (my translation) are not the same thing. As to what you have seen, for Sole Managing Director (in English) Googles yields 240 hits. There might be a reason.

disagree Kelly O'Connor : you may be right, but if you look at the hits in Google, about half are translations from foreign language sites... primarily German and Austrian. I'm still not convinced, but as I say, you may be right. Kelly

Managing Director / CEO

No need for the "sole". I have always seen managing director in BE texts or CEO for AE

Potrebbe essere utile ragionare in questo modo: C'era un amministratore unico (faceva tutto lui, probabilmente gestiva il consiglio d'amministrazione = President o Chairman e fungeva da amministratore delegato = CEO = Chief Executive Officer). Si ha l'impressione che la società abbia subito una ristrutturazione o espansione. Se riesco a stabilire quali sono le mansione a cui si fa riferimento, ho risolto il mio problema e riesco a tradurre il mio testo. Chi è in questo caso il presidente, quello del consiglio di amministrazione (Board of Directors)? Tutto il resto diventa facile, almeno più facile. Spero sia utile.

Sole Director

Rather than a Board of Directors, there is only one Director, who oftenfunctions as the Chairman and CEO of the company, but whose official title is Sole Director,
