cladding
I'm sorry for my friend Gennady,
but "lining" is usually used for internal walls finishing..
Cladding is for external!
Sorry I didn't notice your question before!

You know.. my technical dictionary says so.. but I've checked it again in the WEB as you suggested.. and the two terms are often used and confused.. one instead of the other..

Anyway here the cladding is more similar to a simple "brick layer"..
laid on the reinforced concrete structure and before the plaster finishing!

I've found another one:
<<Brick veneer>> as a "outer layer of a compound wall"!

Anyway.. it should be checked whether this wall it remains in bricks.. or it will be plastered!

I saw 'rincocciatura+planarita' and they're used like "rinzaffo".. which - besided being a lining - is also a rendering coat or a scracth coat..
Anyway I wouldn' speak about "mistakes"..
In our case it is only a layer in bricks and we don't know whether it is plastered or not!

: Congratulations! However, as a result of your research you finally found that *rincocciatura* means lining, so in this context the gaps in brickwork are aligned/filled with 2cm tiles. I accept this as an apology for your misplaced comment on my answer.

rincocciatura
rincocciatura s. f. [der. di coccia], roman. – Nelle costruzioni civili, rivestimento con malta e frammenti di laterizio di una muratura, di un pilastro o di una trave di cemento armato, fatto allo scopo di modificarne le dimensioni o la sagoma della superficie. (Treccani)
I just wanted to add this information (several years later), the idea would be to "fur" the wall with brick fragments and mortar, though I would not call it that in English.
