Medical - Medical (general) / chinese medicine(energy)
English term or phrase: post-heavenly chi
Please can someone tell me the Chinese word(in Chinese modern characters) for 'post -heavenly chi'.

I believe it to be the energy of meeting of breath and food within Chinese medicine.

I am translating from EN to Japanese but if I know the Chinese word, I can use similar Japanese characters.

I don't understand Chinese, so any additional explanations in English, please.

Yes, I am pretty sure this is the correct Chinese, seems like the English must have been a direct translation. Tks.

外気

Explanation:
古代の中国哲学では「気」はこの宇宙に遍満して生物、物質すべてを成立させている根源的存在です。我々、人間に関わる「気」には、外気と内気があります。内気は、我々の体の中にありその量は、活動によって減っていきます。外気は体のそとにある「気」であり、それはすべての物質にありますから、食べ物にもあり、我々が呼吸する空気にもあるわけです。それを体内に取り入れ内気とするのが、「服気」というわけです。
