French term
propulseur
French to English
Tech/Engineering
Petroleum Eng/Sci
In a document dealing with the construction of an oil and gas production site. The term appears in the following heading followed by an excerpt from a related document in English:
WP12G – Changements causés par l’emplacement du propulseur
XXX 327 XX has alleged that, due to the site relocation, a berm was introduced to mitigate accidental
release of a ‘pig’ or hydrocarbons under pressure from the 'pig launcher' (or 'pig receiver') enclosure. XXX maintains that this safety risk was just as applicable
at the Original Site and XX have been unable to provide justification to indicate otherwise. Therefore, XXX's position is that a berm would have been required at
the Original Site as part of design development.

pig launcher
If the section below is linked to the French title, I would suggest it actually refers to the pig launcher. I suppose the issue deals with protecting the surroundings in case the end flange shoots off.
