to survive, ecco! grazie, come ho fatto a non pensarci! per Vittorio: non si tratta di veggenza, ma di una semplice collocation che un madrelingua conosce bene. io risponderei con facilità se mi chiedessero qual è il verbo italiano giusto nel modo di dire «*** la prova del nove», un francese sa che il verbo con «baptême du feu» è «réussir» e perciò non mi sembra di chieder la luna se chiedo la stessa cosa ai parlanti inglesi.
