ozonation cells Explanation: Ozonation Ozonation is a cutting-edge water treatment process that destroys bacteria and other microorganisms through an infusion of ozone, a gas produced by subjecting oxygen molecules to high electrical voltages. Ozone benefits Ozonation is every effective for inactivating Cryptosporidium, bacteria and other naturally-occurring organisms. Ozonation also can reduce the formation of trihalomethanes (THMs), which result from the interaction of chlorine and naturally-occurring organic material in the source water. ALSO Ozonation Use bubbles to produce sparkling clean water. Ozonation is a clean and efficient alternative to chlorine-based water treatment. It's not only a powerful way to eradicate bacteria and viruses; it's also a highly effective bleaching agent. Ozonation is also: Non-toxic. This improves wastewater quality and worker safety. Versatile. Ozonation can treat water with a wide range of temperatures and pH values. Cleaner. Ozonation produces odorless, colorless water. Highly effective. Ozonation works against the toughest bacteria and viruses such as cryptosporidium. Inexpensive. Ozonation reduces chemical costs for laundries and other operations. Ozonation uses a four-step process. First, gas (air or oxygen) is cleaned, filtered, and dried. Then the dried gas is passed through electrodes to form ozone. When the ozone is shot into the water, the bubbles cause particles to coagulate. After bubbling, ozone off-gas is destroyed and the water flow is routed through filters to collect the particles.
