French term

toile de store

Non-PRO French to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
Context is a letter from a French property agency to the owners of a newly built house, discussing aspects to be completed before moving in.

Nous vous prions de bien noter, que nous venons d'obtenir l'accord de l'architecte de votre résidence sur le choix du tissu à retenir pour la confection de toiles de stores et/ou prélarts.

I'm not sure if "toiles de stores" are window blinds or awnings, and if they are connected to the 'prélarts' or just happen to have been included in the same sentence. This is a very short letter, and the subject is not discussed any further elsewhere.
Proposed translations (English)
5 +1 window blind fabric
5 +4 awning fabric

Discussion

RHELLER Oct 12, 2005:
they can be awnings (exterior) or blinds (interior); normally the fabric is weatherproof if destined for exterior use.

Thanks! MLD
agree Bourth (X) : Since "prélarts" are, presumably, awnings, it would make sense that these should be blinds. Not necessarily interior, but vertical. Whether int. or ext., they would need to be UV/sun-resistant etc. if exposed

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Can refer to either awnings or window blinds, as far as I can see. For my own context this is the best solution. Many thanks to everyone who answered or commented."
