Hi, fellow Prozians,
Last Sunday I was sitting here with nothing urgent to do and had this
idea: a website with pictures of the cities and places where translators
live. Today I was sitting here with nothing urgent to do and took

The idea is: you send me pictures of your cities and whatever other info
you think fit for this mostly *recreational* site, and I publish them. I
swear by St Jerome that I will *never* use anything you send me for
commercial purposes, nor for any other purpose than those stated here.
The website is viewable already, although there's nothing there to see.
I am at a loss as to how to organize it (for example, I've divided "our"
world in south america, central america and caribbean, north america,
australia and new zealand, africa, southeast asia, middle east, europe
and asia -- did I miss something?). If you have any ideas, please tell me.
And please send me pictures. Or else I'll have to invent something else
for all those empty zillion bytes.

What do you see from your workplace?

- screen surrounded by voodoo dolls
What does a Chinese keyboard look like?
Do you use the samowar, caffettiera during rush jobs?
Which is your favourite dictionary? Maybe antique.
Remember the thrilling thread about the history of translating.
Something like still lifes or your marks left on the desktop.

It's a very good idea. As I'm working out from two places, I can provide you some very good pics that are downloadable from net itself. But it's still not opening well as I can't see clickable icon for Asia. Keep on the good work sir!

Hello, Prakash,
that site is still absolutely under construction. It is only one day old and I don\'t even know if it\'ll still have that same look once I start uploading the pictures -- maybe I\'ll have to redesign the whole thing from scratch.
Nobody from Asia has sent me any pictures yet. I hope yours are coming soon!

Deciding to set up a website when you have little work is like deciding the bus is going to be late and lighting a cigarette: bus drivers get a kick out of making you put it out before you get the first real puff in.
So do clients. As soon as I decided that my current client wasn't going to need my services for a while and that I had enough free time to at least put a few pictures online...
You know what happened.

El estilo arquitectónico de la ciudad es muy bonito, y tiene una sucesión interminable de playas sobre el mar, interrumpida apenas por las formaciones rocosas del Torreón y Cabo Corrientes, que son estribaciones de las sierras de Tandil. Toda la costanera está llena de barrancas parquizadas que le dan un sabor muy especial, junto con los cortes en la roca que le dan un aspecto distinto.
Pero podrán apreciar mejor Mar del Plata si en vez de seguir escribiendo les pongo unas cuantas fotos bonitas de la ciudad. Aquì están:

¿No es cierto que es una ciudad hermosa? ¡Disfrútenlo! Si a ello agregamos que en temporada baja y media tiene los costos màs bajos de toda la Argentina (hay hoteles precarios desde dos dòlares por noche y por persona, y buenos hoteles por cinco dòlares diarios), ¿qué están esperando para preparar las maletas?
Claro, si buscan un 4 estrellas, los costos son mucho màs altos.
