Schedule:This session ended at 12:15
Description:MT is often considered "forbidden“ by many freelance translators and translation agencies. In this presentation it will be shown how freelance translators can leverage MT through Translation Memories, such as SDL Trados Studio or software localisation tools, like Passolo. A short demo of how to activate MT on such translation tools will be provided. We will present not only the obvious advantages of MT for a freelancer, like the time savings and the postediting, but also how greater efficiency and quality can be achieved. Last but not least, a short comparison between the three architectures, Rule-based MT, Example-based MT, and Statistical MT will be provided and discussed from a freelancer perspective.
